If you are a newbie begin gradually, add merely a little at a time changing as you learn up until you have it just right. You can make natural herb vinegars for tossed salad dressings, sauces, or soups. Herb oils are very valuable in cooking whenever a dish asks for it.

Fresh natural herbs as garnishes dress up any recipe making it look absolutely incredible. Lay individual sprigs of rosemary over broiled lamb chops. Chop fresh parsley and toss it over the top of your mixed greens. The mixes are endless and the end result tasty.

Fresh natural herbs will store in the refrigerator for many days yet then you must freeze them. They can be frozen by laying them a paper towel and putting them in a plastic bag. The moment they are frozen just use them in cooking not as garnishes. A close friend of mine cleans them, puts them an ice cube tray, coverings them with water then freezes them. When she needs them for soup, cooks or sauces she merely drops one in.

My favorite natural herbs to grow are basil, oregano, lemon balm, parsley and mint. Mint is great yet beware, mint can over run your garden. A tip here would certainly be to stash an old coffee can and plant the mint in it. The can protects against the mint from \”sneaking\” throughout your garden.

I love to make natural herb butters. Take one-half of a cup of softened butter and mix in around 4 tablespoons of a fresh natural herb. Lay out a piece of plastic wrap, put the butter in the middle roll the plastic wrap up to develop a \”log\” from the butter. Put in the refrigerator and anytime you require a knob of butter merely cut it off the \”log\”. (Tips for \”log\” butter: potatoes, bread, meats, noodles or any type of of sauce or topping.)

A fresh natural herb in any tossed salad dressing truly makes it shimmer. You can use any natural herb or a mix, be innovative.
